My passion has always been to nurture each child’s potential to their fullest ability and to provide a safe haven where curiosity, creativity, and growth flourish. I spent 15 years in the classroom as a lead teacher, where I loved connecting with children and families on emotional, social, and academic levels. In 2017, I transitioned into the role of Program Director, mentoring teachers in areas such as classroom management, parent communication, child development, and behavior support. In 2019, I became the School Director of WEM, where I felt privileged to support our community, strengthen relationships, and lead with a vision of creating a joyful, inclusive, and inspiring environment.
Today, as the Head of School for WEM, I work from behind the scenes to ensure the continued strength and growth of our school. My focus is on fostering a strong community and guiding WEM to embrace the best possible Montessori practices in tune with our rapidly changing world. While doing so, I remain deeply committed to our core philosophy of following the child to their truest potential. Two of my favorite Maria Montessori quotes that I live by are: “The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence” and “Free the child’s potential, and you will transform him into the world.”
I hold a B.A. from the University of Delhi, India, where I majored in English Literature. I received my AMS ECE credential in 2004 from MEIPN and have been a proud part of WEM ever since. Beyond WEM, I am deeply committed to bringing about positive change in the lives of children. I actively support nonprofit organizations such as AIM for Seva in India, which works to make education and healthcare accessible to children in rural areas. I am also a proud supporter of the YMCA and the CRY foundations. These organizations continue to inspire me to extend my impact beyond the classroom and school walls.
When I’m not at WEM, I cherish spending time with my husband, our two boys, and our cat, Jasmine. My favorite pastime is reading—fiction or nonfiction—and I also enjoy dancing, hiking, solving New York Times crosswords, and singing along to loud music while driving.
